Heart of the Heartlands conducts motorcar rides under the auspices of the North American
Railcar Operators Association (NARCOA) on various railroads in this region of the
United States. Permission from these railroads is obtained by our certified excursion
coordinators. The excursion coordinators plan and coordinate the rides with the
host railroads and handle the appropriate paperwork for the third party liability
insurance arranged through NARCOA. All motorcar operators must be qualified operators
through NARCOA and must participate in the NARCOA insurance program. All participants
in the excursions (operators and passengers) must sign a liability waiver. For more
